Some time spent stitching
I worked on the Chocolat Charm pack today. Of course - inspiration from Darlene - I decided the Chocolat would be perfect for a table centre for the dining room table. You know the table that sits there, that my husband felt we really, really needed - that is used twice a year. But it is a lovely table - a dark stained oak. Perfect for Chocolat. I am trying to decide what to do with the centre. Wendy showed a quilt that has a really narrow little sashing and corner blocks between the four patches. I quite like that, but if I am going to do that I will have to buy some fabric. I don't have anything in my stash that will work.
I am going off tomorrow to the Sewing and Crafts Show in Abbotsford tomorrow -- so I certainly will be up for some shopping. I will bring a little patch with me - maybe I will find something I like for sashing and also I need a little inner border. I have a great piece of Chocolat fabric for a outer border.
And now - how about a picture of what today looked like on the "Wet Coast" Can you tell where the ocean ends and the sky begins? This is called "Rain, heavy at times" to continue all weekend from what I'm hearing. So I guess we have a wet drive out to Abbotsford.

The layout looks good! Sorry to read that you have nothing in your stash that will work with those colours. I know fabric shopping is rough, but someone's gotta do it! ;o) - I don't mind the rain. I actually enjoy walking in the rain as long as there's no lightning. I'm scared of lighting. Good luck with that fabric shopping! lol Happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteYou have a good start on your layout. I hope you find some fabric to go with it at the sewing show, what am I saying, with all those quilt shops in under one roof, how could you not find something.
ReplyDeleteToo bad we are going to the craft show in Abbotsford on different days! I have to work Friday so I will be going Saturday. I guess we will miss each other again! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use the fabrics! I hope you find the perfect thing at the show. The coast picture reminds me of many times when I travelled the CA Hwy 1 road with my best friend. The mornings are always a bit foggy/cloudy.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a bit of a charm square thing at the moment. I have lots of plans but nothing done ...yet. Hopefully this weekend I will get a start. They just look great altogether though don't they.
ReplyDeleteThe layout looks great so far. Happy fabric shopping!
ReplyDeleteThe weather shot looks like Nauset Beach here yesterday. Today we have sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a great center cloth for your table.
Oh, lots and lots of charm packs and a fun table topper in your future. WooHoo! I'm glad I've inspired you, Pam. Bear in mind, that your blog is an inspiration to me, as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, have a nice day at Sewing and Crafts Show
ReplyDeleteYour work seems well done from the beginning. ciao ciao
I really like how your reds and browns work together in this quilt. It is just so pretty as it is. Or you could applique a silhouette of something on it.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn'tmind living by the ocean, even if I couldn't see where the sky begins. That is a gorgeous picture.
I love your fabrics - they are beautiful! Have fun at the show!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors! Can't wait to see the finished product!!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love those little charm packs...? Hope you find matching fabric, have fun shopping :) (and no, I can't tell where the sky begins...) Hope you'll see the sun again soon.
ReplyDeleteLove your table topper progress - how was the Sewing/Craft Show? We have our twice annual show here in Toronto in just a couple of short weeks ..... I am really really looking forward to it.
