Using the stash

I found this really simple pattern on the internet the other day while browsing for baby quilt patterns. I decided to start another quilt! Like I need to do that. But I am going to use my stash of 30's fabrics that are left from the Dresdan Plate quilt. I thought this was such a cute little quilt. I started cutting up the blocks and I will work on it this weekend at my all day "Quilt by the Bay" retreat tomorrow.

I have finished my siggy blocks and will mail them off today. I am so excited to see the blocks that I get back. I have never done a block exchange before so I am hoping that the blocks I made will be okay for everbody in the exchange. Jim has a physio appt. today so I will drive him in to physio and mail them off - I have no idea how long it will take for them to get to Australia. We shall see.....

  2. What lovely colours, but then again, you know how I LOVE 1930's fabrics. I too spent this afternoon cutting 1930's scraps for a baby quilt - I blog about it once it's together.

  3. I'm looking for simple patterns to use up my stash, especially if it's free. Which web site did you find the pattern?

My pincushions are a BOM from Buggy Barn Quilts.
Have a great time at the retreat.

  5. I have been thinking about this same sort of pattern - sort of an Irish Chain/9 patch with pink 30's prints too SPOOKY! I was thinking I would make strip sets though - are you cutting the squares individually for a reason Pam?

  6. This is a beautiful pattern, and your fabric will look fabulous in it. And you can strip piece it, so hopefully it will be nice and easy. Do you know if they still sell 30s fabric?

  9. Looking at your stash here reminds me that somewhere in my cupboard I have some similar fabrics. Why have I forgotten about them :) LOL

I am doing my siggies today and I am looking forward to see the one I get back.

  10. Love that pattern! It will look super in the 30s prints. I see you have a start on those squares already!

I might borrow this pattern for using up more of the r/w/b squares that are left over from every AmHero quilt. Thanks!
