My Fun Mail

I got this wonderful package in the mail from Nadine!! Last month when she saw all the beautiful African fabric she offered to send me the pieces she had left from making her daughter's African quilt. I just love the Dancing Mama fabric. She also included this book for inspiration. Nadine is so sweet. It is nice to be part of a great blogging group and to have such wonderful "imaginary friends" Thank you so much Nadine. I have been looking through the book and already I have a couple of ideas :))

  6. Ooh what nice fabric. The book looks really interesting. I'm off to see if the library has it. I think the library must be getting tired of me ordering so many books I see through my blog travels.

    Nadine is a treasure.
Beautiful the colour of these fabrics.
Here in Monza there is an African woman that sometimes on Sunday wears her happy dresses and is wonderful.

  8. Hi Pam,
I loved the Out of Africa book and have used those fabrics to make a quilt back. I also used the African Coins pattern to make two lap quilts - one was made with all sunflower fabrics and the other was made with batiks- it is more in keeping with the patterns of the book. I made a snail's trail out of batiks as the front for the African fabric that Nadine sent you. My brother in law travelled a lot at the time to Africa so he loves the quilt and has it to wrap himself up on a winter's day.Enjoy- regards from a fellow canadian quilter,
    Anna
